Elizabeth :: Mother of Divine Grace Senior Portraits

I have known this girl for as long as I can remember. It’s hard to believe that she’s a senior attending Mother of Divine Grace and that she’ll be going off to college soon! I want to introduce everybody to my “not-so-little-anymore” cousin, Elizabeth. For those of you that know her, she always has a smile on her face and always looks to put others first…its kind of easy when your the oldest of 5 kids. For her session, we had her relax and let her personality shine, so she of course brought her smile and her trusty guitar and we were on our way!

Good luck at whatever college you end up attending and we bet (bet) =p that you’ll grow up to be a successful young woman!

Alex + Hochan :: Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Long Beach Wedding Photos

Seven years ago, a civil ceremony took place in front of a single witness. Since then, high school sweethearts, Alex + Hochan had always hoped for a church ceremony for their close family and friends. This became a reality as everyone gathered for their big day at The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach. They are one of the most caring couples I know which was made even clearer when they went from table to table during the reception and had mini conversations with each and every guest.

It was an emotion-filled evening which had me reaching in my pocket several times for my nonexistent handkerchief…from Alex and Hochan’s personal written vows, to their special messages to their parents, to Alex’s sister Jessica, delivering her Matron of Honor speech. But putting aside those tears of joy, Alex and Hochan really know how to throw a party! With a rockin’ DJ, everyone danced the night away.

Thanks Alex and Hochan for making things so easy for my 2nd shooter Joel, and I. I hope you have a great time on your honeymoon cruise =D.

Corina + Jason :: Balboa Park Engagement Session

This past weekend, Annie, Jerelle, and I took a trip down to Balboa Park in San Diego to shoot the engagement session of a person I’ve known ever since she was born…my oldest friend…my very own sister, Corina to her fiance Jason. After such a rainy weekend, the park was jam-packed with people but that didn’t stop us from pressing on.

I must admit, being the middle child of our family must not have been easy on Corina, with my brother Marcus and I constantly teaming up against her. That was only our way of toughening her up. =) We did have our fair share of sibling camaraderie when we acted out every single Disney play word for word ESPECIALLY 3 Ninjas (me as Rocky, Marcus as Tum Tum and her as Colt =p). Now we’ve gotten older and are moving our own ways, building our own families…THREE strands of rope…apart we can snap…but together we are strong! (Did I really make a 3 Ninjas reference just now?!?!?)

Jason, you have some heavy shoes to fill with her crush being on Usher….and Corina, you have some heavier shoes to fill with his being on….Bieber?!?! =p

Anyway, we love you guys and are anxiously awaiting for your special day in September!!!

Joyce + Dennis :: St. Denis Catholic Church + NBC Seafood Restaurant Wedding

Ever since I proposed to Annie at Piazza San Marco (St Mark’s Square) in Venice, Italy coming up on 4 years ago, I have had this special place in my heart for couples who had proposals done abroad. I had the opportunity to once again 2nd shoot with our friend and mentor Henry Chen for such a couple as Joyce + Dennis got engaged in Paris!!!

It was a pleasure to witness the mixing of the Chinese and Filipino cultures as bits of pieces of each were present throughout the day…from the tea ceremony in the morning, to the rope and veil during their Catholic ceremony, to the lion dancers and then to the money dance at the end. Joyce and Dennis were such an amazing couple and their church, St Denis Catholic Church in Diamond Bar was absolutely gorgeous! Here are some of our favorites from the day…be sure to check out Henry’s blog as well!

Siri even came out to play…

Henry getting in on the action…
