We were first contacted by Ted saying that he found us through our mutual friend Tonya. Tonya is a good friend of mine from high school back in Kansas and she apparently hired Ted for the job he still works in when they were in New York!
We met up with both Kathleen + Ted a couple of weeks ago to go over some of the logistics of the day for their civil wedding in Los Angeles. They met through online dating out there in New York and just hit it off right from the start. Their relationship was tested when Kathleen ended up getting a good opportunity to work out here in Los Angeles. But fortunately, Ted was able to work something with his company to work out here in the West Coast to be closer to Kathleen!
Close family were in attendance for Kathleen + Ted’s civil wedding in Los Angeles. The ceremony was special for many reasons. The first being the first wedding since they opened the new building up this past January. The second was that Kathleen has worked twice, as a student and then later as a clerk, with the officiant, the Honorable Consuelo B. Marshall. Things started off with a poem from Ted’s father and everyone got a good chuckle during Ted’s use of a Star Trek reference when explaining his relationship to Kathleen during the ceremony.
After the ceremony and taking photos of the entire family, the family went to go rest at nearby Grand Park. Annie and I took Kathleen + Ted over to get some wedding portraits at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Luckily the concert hall was not overly crowded. We had a little bit of extra time at the end, so afterwards walked down to the Museum of Contemporary Art aka MOCA to check out some of the wall murals.
Thank you Kathleen + Ted for introducing us to your families and having us be a part in this special occasion. We hope that the reception in Florida next month is filled with lots of fun and laughter! How can it not with a party bus involved? 😉
